Attendance
The District Attendance Desk is responsible for all school attendance accounting sent from all school sites. This attendance data is reported to the County and State on a monthly and annual basis. The District Attendance Desk is also responsible for providing support to the school sites to ensure compliance with the State Education Code. NMUSD currently services an average 21,775 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. NMUSD also has preschool and adult education programs. Our goal at NMUSD is for all students to attend 100 percent of the time.
It may seem obvious that children with better school attendance records also have better grades, but the link is proving even stronger than educators have thought. Research has shown that even small improvements in attendance yield test score gains.
Boundaries
We at NMUSD are very fortunate to live in the beautiful coastal cities of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa. The combined population of Newport Beach and Costa Mesa is approximately 200,000. If you would like to know which schools service your home address, please use the school locator. If you would like boundary information, please use the boundary maps. If you are unable to locate the schools that service your address or if you have any questions, please contact Attendance and Boundaries at 714-424-5072.
