Objectives

  1. Communicate early and often
  2. Keep the main thing, the main thing
  3. Serve as a resource and link for staff to assist with individual communication strategies
  4. Create a system to encourage flow of information to and from families/community to district (i.e. school loop)
  5. Improve internal and external communication systems with the specific goal of creating open, two-way communication between the Board of Education, administration, staff, families and the community
  6. Be visible and serve as a resource and liaison for the district and community
  7. Provide regular and timely information on district-wide issues
  8. Clarify district organization and responsibilities; publish informational pieces

laurapic920092.JPGThe Public Information Office will implement and manage community relations, media relations, publications, websites, special projects, events and marketing, and offer leadership on all comprehensive communication strategies for the District.  The Public Information Office is managed by Laura Boss, the Director of District Communications.  The office operates at the direction and oversight of the Superintendent, Dr. Jeffrey Hubbard.

Contact the PIO for assistance with your district-wide, site specific, department or community wide communication or event needs.  It is our goal to serve as a resource for all communication efforts.  We are here to help spread the good news about Newport-Mesa.
