Online Drivers Education

Online Driver's Education

Registration for the spring course will begin on April 24, 2018 after 3:00 pm.  Registration will close when we reach 150 students or May 1, 2018.

The online course accommodates 150 students and the course will begin after 3:00 pm on  May 7, 2018, through 11:59 pm on May 25, 2018 .

The State of California requires 30 hours studying Drivers Education before a learners permit is obtained. This online driver education course lets you study at their own pace, on their schedule, any time of the day or night. This course sets the foundation for behind-the-wheel Driver’s Training and is in accordance with the guidelines set by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.  Upon successful completion, students will receive a DMV- approved certificate of completion. The Newport-Mesa Unified School District does not offer Driver Training, otherwise known as behind-the-wheel instruction. Students may begin taking the course on Monday, May 7, after 3:00 pm and must complete the course by May 25, at 11:59 pm.   All students must be 15 years or older on the day the course starts and have internet access to enroll.  All communication related to this program will be delivered by email.

VERY IMPORTANT! All students must have opted to agree to the Student Use of Technology Agreement during the registration process to access the class content. This can still be done on your school’s registration page.
