 DEADLINE TO APPLY MONDAY, MARCH 26, 2012 4:30 p.m.

Appointments will be made at the March 27, 2012 Board meeting

The Newport-Mesa Unified School District Governing Board is in the process of selecting a new superintendent.  In an effort to seek broad-based input, the Board is establishing a Superintendent Selection Community Interview Group consisting of 31 representatives.  The Board is requesting members of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District community to represent two participant groups on the interview group.

The first group is Parent Representatives:  The Board will appoint 8 representatives from the following areas: 1 elementary and 1 secondary representative from each of the four high schools zones.

Any parent who currently has a student/s enrolled in one of the schools of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District is encouraged to apply.  Your name will be placed into a hat by zone and grade level and appointments will be made after a drawing by lot at the March 27, 2012 Board meeting.

The second group is Community-At-Large (not currently a parent of a pre-k-12 student attending a Newport-Mesa school):  The Board will appoint 2 representatives from the following areas: 1 community member from the City of Newport Beach and 1 community member from the City of Costa Mesa.

Any community member who currently resides within the cities of Newport Beach or Costa Mesa and does not currently have a student enrolled in one of the schools of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District is encouraged to apply.  Your name will be placed into a hat by city area and appointments will be made after a drawing by lot at the March 27, 2012 Board meeting.

The tasks of the Superintendent Selection Community Interview Group will be to participate in interviewing the top finalist candidates selected by the Board of Education and optional participation in the community input process.

Your input as a member of the interview group is extremely valuable to the Board’s process.  Members of the interview group MUST be available for the following two meetings.  Please review these dates and your schedule before applying to serve.
