Newport-Mesa Unified School District Announces Selection of New Principals for Andersen Elementary School and Kaiser Elementary School
In late June, 2012, the principals of Kaiser Elementary and Andersen Elementary Schools informed the District of their intent to leave N-MUSD at the conclusion of the 2011/12 school year.
The District immediately began the process to recruit principal candidates. The process included community forums held at each school to gather input from parents and staff about the attributes they would like to see in their next principal. The District held interviews conducted by panels comprised of district, employee, and parent representatives from each of the open schools. The District concluded the final interviews the week of July 16.
The District is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Shannon Bray as Principal of Andersen Elementary School and Dr. Deborah Granger as Principal of Kaiser Elementary School. Due to the summer schedule, the individuals have been appointed by the Superintendent and the Board will officially ratify the appointments at the next regularly scheduled board meeting on August 28, 2012.
