High school students are getting a head start on careers in education through the district's new Education Career Jumpstart program.
Mandatory safety education is required for everyone. High school and middle school students must complete online CHP safety training and pass a quiz using their NMUSD login, while elementary students will participate in age-appropriate "Walk ‘N Rollers" training during the school day.

Applications for a 2026-27 bus pass will be available starting July 6.

The district announces the selection of Dr. Jennifer Fox as the principal of Ensign Intermediate School, Dr. Kevin Astor as the principal of Newport Harbor High School, and Mrs. Cindy Pedroso as the principal of TeWinkle Middle School.

Whittier Elementary, Wilson Elementary, and Estancia High School will benefit from Save the Music Foundation grants during the 2026-27 school year.

The 2026 spring athletic season in Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) featured CIF championships, league titles, record-breaking performances, and outstanding individual achievements across all four high schools. Student-athletes continued to demonstrate excellence, perseverance, and sportsmanship while representing their schools and communities with pride.
