Planning Phase
Overview:
Field area improvements for access and functionality.
Status as of April 2022:
Project scope is currently being considered and will be defined once final approval has occurred. This includes coordination with the school site and stakeholders. The final scope will be presented at a future community meeting.

Overview:
Expansion of existing parking lot including new parking stalls and alterations for an accessible pedestrian path from parking lot to administration building.
Status as of April 2022:
Phase One consists of removal of empty portable building located off 18th Street. Phase Two will include construction of expanded parking lot and accessible features. Project is expected to start in Q4 of 2022.

Overview:
Replacement of new ground flush mounted lifts for school busses and district fleet vehicles.
Status as of April 2022:
Project design is complete and is anticipated to go out to bid in April od 2022. Anticipated start of construction is Summer of 2022.

Overview:
New theater for Estancia High School, which is expected to include a new 350 seat theater, black box, lobby and support spaces.
Status as of April 2022: Newport-Mesa Unified School District is in the process of gathering community input on proposed locations for the new theater at Estancia High School. Community feedback will be shared with the Board of Education for their review and approval at a future board meeting.

Overview:
Project includes modernization of the existing courtyard in the middle of the Home Arts Building at Newport Harbor High School. This includes improvement in accessibility, drainage, landscaping as well as the kiln yard, replacement kilns and roof structure.
Status as of April 2022:
Budget received Board approval in July 2021. Project has received DSA approval and is anticipated to begin construction in Summer of 2022.

Overview:
This project is currently planned to be conducted in two phases.
Phase One is the installation of new shade structures over replacement bleachers, relocation of aquatics scoreboard and addition of new sports lighting.
Phase Two is a planned remodel of the existing aquatics building, which includes coaches offices, locker rooms, bathrooms and showers.
Status as of April 2022:
The project is currently in design. The budget for this project was Board approved July 13, 2021, and the architect design contract was Board approved August 17, 2021.
Construction for Phase One is anticipated to begin Q4 2022, with a completion of Phase I of the project in Q1 of 2023. Schedule may shift if it is determined that the project should be completed in a single phase.
Staff will coordinate with NHHS administration and the City of Newport Beach for closure of the pool for the duration of the construction project. All aquatic programs for the school and the City will need to be relocated during construction.

Overview:
As a result of removal of trees on campus to accommodate the new Cliff Drive Pick-Up / Drop-Off Lot, the board approved on May 29, 2020 the recommendation to create additional enhanced outdoor student gathering areas within the campus.
Status as of April 2022:
A Schematic Design was presented to the board and Ensign school administrators for review and comment. After approval, the facilities department directed the design team to continue with design.
Site surveys of existing conditions, slopes, drainage and other potential impediments have been completed and design is ongoing.
Construction is estimated to start in Q4 of 2022.

Overview:
Expand sidewalk and landscaping improvements between the campus perimeter fence and adjacent streets at Corona del Mar High School and Ensign Intermediate.
Status as of April 2022:
Budget was Board approved 10/17/21. The project design is complete and has been submitted to the City of Newport Beach for review and approval.
Construction is estimated to start in Q3 of 2022.
