Newport-Mesa Unified School District provides students with a robust, well-rounded, quality education from elementary through high school to prepare them for future success. This effort is supported by ongoing upgrades to their learning environments, which includes the completion of maintenance and operations projects at schools across the district.
Maintenance and Operations
The Maintenance and Operations team is responsible for maintaining district facilities and carrying out daily operations to provide a solid base for student success. This includes 24/7 emergency response, technical assistance, the repairing and maintaining of existing facilities, the overseeing of custodial, grounds, energy services, and more.
During the summer of 2023, the team will continue to improve schools by trimming trees, washing windows (high windows) and roof maintenance at all schools, as well as completing the following projects:
Districtwide - Security Systems
Installation of electronic security systems at all schools, the Education Center and Harper Assessment Center is scheduled for this summer, with completion anticipated by the start of the 2023-24 school year.
The security system will include equipment to provide controlled entry such as doorbell, camera and intercom system. Signage will be posted at front entrances and other locations throughout the buildings notifying that a camera system has been installed.
