On December 9, 2024, a vacancy was created on the Newport-Mesa Unified School District Board of Education for Trustee Area 5.
The Trustee vacancy will be filled by provisional appointment. A provisionally appointed Board member will hold the office for the remainder of the term for Trustee Area 5, to December 2026, unless terminated by petition. Beginning December 20, 2024, through January 21, 2025, the Board will be accepting applications to fill this position.
Candidates should make themselves available for an interview with the Board of Education at a public meeting tentatively planned for January 27, 2025, at 6 pm.
