Business Management Pathway
Persons trained in fields of Business Management, international trade, and various financial services and specialties (e.g., accounting, banking, and investing) will find that their skills are highly marketable. Students master basic business principles and procedures before proceeding to the career path specializations. The specializations emphasize concepts of accounting and finance, including computer applications, taxes, investments, and business managing. Since almost every business and organization has a financial and management component, students will find that opportunities exist in many career paths in addition to those in business and finance.
At Back Bay High School, we are proud to partner with Spyder3D to bring a state-of-the-art media production and manufacturing lab to our students who will develop their business management and entrepreneurial mindset, and run their own media design production enterprise.

DECA conferences bring our members into the larger DECA community while providing unique opportunities to extend classroom learning. Each of DECA’s conferences connects with corporate professionals to engage students in learning industry-related trends and content. DECA’s competitive events program directly supports our mission. As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA's flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school."
