Elementary Summer Program

Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) is pleased to provide high-quality academic and enrichment programs for the summer of 2022 for currently enrolled elementary students. The NMUSD Elementary Summer Program will be provided from July 6 through August 2.


Students who are currently enrolled in NMUSD TK through 5th grade classrooms are eligible to attend the Elementary Summer Programs. If interest exceeds capacity, priority enrollment will be given to students based on academic need. Enrollment for 6th grade students will be by invitation and based on academic need.

Families may choose half-day (morning or afternoon) or full-day programs:

Morning Summer Session (8:30 am - 12:30 pm)*

Engaging and hands-on activities that promote creativity and enhance reading, writing, language, and math skills.

Afternoon Enrichment Camp (12:30 pm- 5:00 pm)* 

Activities focused on music and visual art; sports; and Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM).

*Specific start and end times and program offerings may vary slightly by site. 

Summer Program Applications


Host sites for the 2022 Elementary Summer Program are:

  • Kaiser Elementary

  • Killybrooke Elementary

  • Newport Coast Elementary

  • Rea Elementary

  • Sonora Elementary

  • Wilson Elementary

All NMUSD students are eligible to participate in summer programs regardless of home school site. Parents are able to request a specific site in the application process, however, students may be assigned to a specific school site based on space availability and student request for transportation to and from the summer program site.
