Karen Kendall Welcome Center (Enrollment)

The Karen Kendall Welcome Center will be closed for in-person service from Friday, June 18th through Wednesday, June 30th.

The Karen Kendall Welcome Center’s fundamental purpose is to provide quality service to our families and ensure a smooth and efficient process for enrollment and verification of residency.

Enrollment for New Students for 2021-22 school year is open.

State and local pandemic mitigation practices are still in place at  all schools throughout the District. These practices may limit capacity at elementary schools. Students unable to be accommodated at their home school due to capacity limits will be offered enrollment at another school within the District.

Enrollment Alert - Due to the high volume of enrollment applications for the 2021-2022 school year, processing the applications is currently taking longer than usual and a response to your call or voicemail may be delayed.  Please note, we are not able to respond to individual questions concerns regarding the status of your application. For a quicker response to questions not related to the status of your application, please send an email to NewStudentEnrollment@nmusd.us, which is checked daily.

Scribbles applications will be processed in the order in which they were received.

Please note, once you create your Scribbles Family Dashboard account and associate your student(s) you are requesting to enroll, you will receive an email confirmation from Scribbles when you submit your application.

A simple way to expedite the application process  is by providing all required documentation listed on this webpage when you submit your Scribbles application.  Incomplete applications may be delayed as staff will need to email you to request the required documentation and wait for a response.

Once your application is approved,  you will work with the school site to finalize enrollment. The school site staff responsible for completing the enrollment process will be on summer break beginning June 22, 2021 and will begin the process of finalizing the enrollment process when they return on July 26, 2021.
